Yanick Paternotte, Chairman of Euro Carex and Member of the French Parliament for the Val d'Oise

Welcome to the new Euro Carex web portal!
This website contains full information about the project designed to introduce a European high-speed rail service between airports and logistics hubs. The Carex project offers an alternative solution to road and air transport for journey lengths of between 300 and 800 kilometres. As the long-awaited response to current environmental needs and expectations, the Carex project has been given the seal of approval in France by the Grenelle de l'Environnement central government environmental initiative, and has recently been adopted by the French government as part of its national commitment to rail freight. It is also supported by the government of every country involved and by European institutions.

Currently, 5 Carex companies are involved in detailed studies and are working jointly as part of the new Euro Carex federation on the development of the future network rail terminals known as Railports. Everything is now in place to push this project forward, from feasibility studies to business plan projections and carbon footprint assessments. The Carex concept, which involves using existing high-speed rail links to carry freight previously transported by air or road, demonstrates that it is possible to reconcile environmental protection with minimal disruption to local populations, economic growth and job creation in all the locations served. The first phase of the network involves Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, Liège-Bierset, Amsterdam-Schiphol, London and Germany.
